How to Take Advantage of New Time-Based Electricity Blocks to Save Energy

With the introduction of the new time-based electricity blocks system in Slovenia, you can effectively reduce your electricity costs. Smart devices like Sonoff make it easy to manage your energy consumption and take advantage of lower rates

What Are Time-Based Electricity Blocks?

Time-based electricity blocks set different electricity prices depending on the time of day and season. The cheapest rates are available at night, while the most expensive are in the afternoon. The higher season lasts from November to February, and the lower season lasts from March to October. The key is to adjust your device usage to the more favorable times.

How Does the Optimization System Work?

Smart devices such as the Sonoff Smart Plug S60 and the Sonoff Power Consumption Meter POW R3 allow precise monitoring and management of your electricity usage. Through the eWeLink app, you can set device schedules, monitor real-time consumption, and receive alerts if consumption exceeds set limits.

Managing a Freezer

You can connect your freezer to a smart plug and set it to operate at maximum power during the night (00:00 to 06:00) when electricity is cheapest. During the day, it can switch to energy-saving mode if it has this option or run at minimal consumption. By monitoring the compressor activity in the eWeLink app, you can see exactly how much energy it uses and how much you save.

With a smart management system, you can

Reduce your monthly electricity costs by aligning device operation with cheaper tariffs.

Monitor and analyze the energy consumption of each device.

Automatically control devices and optimize their operation without additional effort.
