The Nous B1T is a 1-gang Wi-Fi smart relay that can be installed behind outlets or light switches to control them. It is capable of dry contact switching, making it suitable for controlling garage doors and gate opener motors. Pre-installed with Tasmota firmware. It's a Matter standard compatible relay module.

One of the new products from the European Nous brand is the Nous B1T 1-gang Wi-Fi smart relay without power consumption measurement functionality, which can be installed behind outlets or light switches to control them or any other device up to 16A. It is capable of dry contact switching, making it suitable for controlling garage doors and gate opener motors. Matter compatible product.

The Nous B1T relay module comes pre-installed with Tasmota firmware, making it ideal for users and integrators of open-source smart home systems, as well as those looking for solutions compatible with Matter hubs.

What is Tasmota firmware?

TASMOTA is an open-source firmware increasingly used - even pre-installed - as the base software for smart home devices. It enables cloud-independent local control, supporting manufacturer-independent, local, secure data storage. Since Tasmota is open-source, the community continuously develops and reviews it, enhancing security and reliability.

It supports various communication protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, and WebSocket, providing broad compatibility with different devices. TASMOTA devices can be easily integrated with various smart home hubs like Home Assistant, OpenHAB, Domoticz, and Node-RED.

Tasmota firmware offers a local web administration interface on the devices for configuring different settings, but it does not provide a "factory" app. However, several third-party applications help in controlling and managing the devices. Home Assistant, OpenHAB, and other smart home platforms also have mobile apps to integrate and control TASMOTA devices.

The Nous B1T WiFi smart switch module can be used as a single-channel relay switch. The device features a built-in ESP32 MINI-1 module with 4MB flash memory and comes pre-installed with Tasmota firmware, allowing easy integration with various smart home systems, such as Home Assistant.

The B1T module supports 100-240V AC or 24-48V DC or 12V DC power supply and connects to the Wi-Fi network using built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

Since the B1T operates with Tasmota firmware, it is not compatible with Nous's own application but rather with open-source solutions like Home Assistant or other systems supporting the MQTT protocol.

Thanks to its small size, it fits into standard-depth wall sockets, behind traditional light switches. It has an input for the light switch, allowing the smart-enhanced wall switches to remain usable as before.

It can operate in local mode without an internet connection or factory cloud, and it is schedulable.

Matter compatible solution, compatible with Apple HomeKit and SmartThings when connected to a Matter hub.

When connected to a Matter hub or Home Assistant, it supports voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
